Houghton - Spring 2017

Houghton, known for its blend of flawless femininity and chic contemporary aesthetic, showcased their latest Spring 2017 wedding dress collection for Bridal Fashion Week at a breathtaking private town home on Manhattan's Upper East Side. For the first time, brides and style mavens were able to pre-order any gown shown throughout the show's stunning setting, which was transformed into a beautifully consuming Houghton dream world. Additionally, all attendees had the option to buy select styles as seen on the models including their signature Houghton x Commando bodysuits, separates, intimates, and accessories.

The collection featured quite a few belted waists over layers of richly textured lace, and cascading ruffles. The romantic, yet edgy, vibes were set with flouncy off-the-shoulder sleeves, and tastefully done cut-outs exposing the perfect amount of skin. A thick eyelet number was done in a beautiful clean A-line silhouette with gathered pleating just above the knee while the rest of the skirt flowed seamlessly to the floor. The palette was full of crisp whites chiffons, black lace, and even the perfect soft grey with a one shoulder swept sleeve. Both tightly and loosely tiered dresses were the reoccurring element seen throughout Houghton's selection of wedding dresses; and all the models sported taught tough braids with clean fresh faces. The look was strong yet completely feminine, a signature of the brand.

"For the Spring / Summer 2017 collection, I am inspired by the shapes and effects created by layering," said Houghton's designer Katharine Polk. "The collection continues to translate as ready-to-wear for the bride and can be styled and worn everyday to wedding day."
