The bridal and evening haute couture house of Galia Lahav was founded on the mastering art of creating extravagant luxury dresses. The wedding dresses are famous for illusion backs, cascading silk tulle skirts, and Italian ivory lace, each hand made by a dream team of experienced seamstresses. We are not surprised, but always delighted, to see another beautifully designed wedding collection by Lahav this Bridal Fashion Week.
Fifteen gowns, fit for every kind of ice princess straight out of a fairytale, were dripping with decadent lace, beading, and appliqué. Plunging sweetheart bodices, both strapless and overlaid with delicate sheer silk tulle, were seen throughout the collection, as well as trumpet skirts, both grand and modest. Even though all the dresses felt extremely opulent, it doesn't mean there weren't some that stood out as lavish and utterly timeless (such a magical combination!). A wedding gown worthy of Duchess Kate's approval featured a seamless traditional silk ball gown silhouette with a strapless sweetheart bodice, overlaid with modest sheer long sleeves, embroidered with lace tulle.
Another show stopping ivory silk gown carried the feel of an extremely powerful, yet completely elegant, medieval warrior princess. The gown was impeccably tailored from its off-the-shoulder silk straps to the princess-cut corseted bodice with a sharp and structured peplum on either side. Rich finely pleated and embroidered tulle streamed down from the hip, perfectly gracing the floor without overwhelming the dress. The best part of Galia Lahav's wedding dresses is you don't have to be a princess to look just like one.
