Your Wedding Slimdown: Cardio Workouts

Lifestyle coach and trainer Valérie Orsoni created this easy-to-follow fitness plan, based on her LeBootCamp program, to help you drop lbs. and tone up in time for your walk down the aisle.

Interval Training

Do a 45-minute interval training workout, such as: 1 minute slow walking, 1 minute speed walking, 1 minute jogging, 1 minute running (repeat the series). Amp it up to 60 minutes for an extra challenge!

High-Intensity Aerobics

Take a high-intensity cardio class of your choice—think Tae Bo (which combines martial arts and boxing) or Cardio Hip Hop. Or pick up a few cardio DVDs and follow along at home. Just be sure keep up the high pace for at least 45 minutes to reach the fat-burning zone. Increase the time to 60 minutes as you get closer to your wedding day.

Aqua Walk

If you live near the beach or have access to a shallow pool, this workout is for you. Simply get in the water at thigh level and walk. Walking in water burns more calories than walking on the ground because of the added resistance. And if the water is chilly, your body will also expend some energy to maintain your core temperature. This simple exercise also helps tone your thighs (reducing cellulite) and improve blood flow. Aim for a 30-minute walk every day.
