I also love the designer's approach to the "Jane Austen" gown—she maintained a few hallmarks of Regency-era fashion (empire waist, slim skirt, décolletage) but trimmed it with a modern black floral appliqué. It works because Jane Austen was a woman ahead of her time and black is about as non-traditional as you can get on a wedding gown. The floral motif is fitting, too, no doubt a reference to Austen's heroines, who always seem to be strolling the English countryside with a love interest.—AE
