Editors' Favorite Wedding Dresses

Carolina Herrera

I remember reading an article in Vanity Fair about Suzy Parker, who was America's first "supermodel" and the inspiration for Audrey Hepburn's character in Funny Face (Fred Astaire, by the way, stands in for Richard Avedon—Suzy Parker was his muse throughout the 1940s and 1950s). Suzy was a classic, regal beauty—tall, red hair, and cheekbones to die for. I think this gown (did I mention it's called "Suzy Parker"?), perfectly captures her inherent elegance, as well as the elegant fashions of that era.—Amy Elliott
