Just as suited to a stroll in the garden as to a walk down the runway, Anne Barge's Spring 2017 collection is blooming with darling details like lace appliqués, floral embroidery, and beautiful beadwork. This is girly gone grown-up.
About a year ago, we sat down with the designer known for her feminine and beautiful bridal creations, where she explained the thoughts that go into every one of her breathtaking collections. "My design process is constantly evolving," Barge said. "I look for inspiration in everything I do, from the movies I watch, to the places I visit, and the people I love." Her favorite bride of all time falls into that last category, being that it's her very own mother! "My mother's wedding portrait has inspired me since day one," remembers the designer. "She looked flawless! She had the most incredible oversized bouquet full of loose stephanotis, white roses, and feather ferns — a copy of her mother's bouquet in 1907."
Today, Anne Barge is still designing with her mother's bridal style in mind, but with contemporary detailing as refreshing as a spring garden's morning dew. "The Anne Barge Spring 2017 collection is an interpretation of nature's ethereal transition," the bridal fashion house explains. "Each gown is inspired by the awakening of spring gardens, still covered in frost, petals only peeking."
Comprised of 30 new wedding day looks, Anne Barge's Spring 2017 collection is for the romantic bride on the hunt for her true love — classic styles that are still unique and just oh-so-her. "My designs tend to be more classic," confirmed Barge. "Trend is not a word that resonates with me!"
But with soft silhouettes and dainty details like lace appliqués trickling down snow white chiffon and cascading pearls, this new collection still totes an effortlessly chic vibe. And with floral embroidery and trellis-like beadwork climbing along the column dresses, mermaid silhouettes, and ball gowns, any of these Anne Barge fresh-from-the-garden frocks are a flawless fit for an alfresco soirée.
