Real Brides' Style

Anne Hill

When Anne Hill began planning her wedding to John Dwinell Jr., she was torn between the idea of a big, grand wedding and something more rustic, say, "in a dilapidated little church in Mexico." Formality won out and the couple planned black-tie, California-cliffside nuptials. Anne’s wedding dress may have had something to do with it. She couldn’ resist a satin strapless A-line gown with a champagne taffeta sash by Amsale, which she accessorized with diamond-and-pearl drop earrings and champagne mules with rhinestone-encrusted straps. Of all the shots her photographer captured, everyone loves this one best—Anne sitting and laughing, with the skirts of her gorgeous gown gathered around her. "It was elegant but casual," she says. "That’s very me."
