Berta - Spring 2017

Wedding couturier Berta is known for her regally influenced wedding dresses that are anything but short on luxury, lace, and sex appeal. With sheer fabrics, classic silhouettes unashamedly amplified, plunging necklines, and an undeniable air of elegant eliteness, consider the Berta Spring 2017 collection the new royal-wear. This is the princess bride all grown-up...

The past few collections from Israeli-based wedding dress designer, Berta, have been wrought with gorgeously grand and regal designs that bring on the drama. Think lace appliqués and glitzy beading meeting in wedded bliss with barely-there illusion panels. Berta's Fall 2016 collection was inspired by Western Europe, circa the 18th century. In the aftermath of the French Revolution, fashion was still very much regally-influenced, but with women celebrating their femininity (and sheer fabulousness!) with more figure-accentuating silhouettes for the very first time. And just like those turn of the century women pushed the boundaries of their society with their new-found sense of style, Berta is doing much of the same with the bridal industry itself and her daring designs.

For Spring 2017, Berta's use of curve-hugging silhouettes and luxurious fabrics is just as strong as it was in past seasons. If anything, this collection proves that the Berta bride is unashamedly sexy, and yet, still stately-chic. Sheer panels showing peek-a-boo swaths of skin, ornate beadwork and embroidery, and complex cuts make these wedding day looks fit for a queen — who's not at all afraid to show off her feminine curves!

Exquisitely embellished and daringly dramatic, the looks from Berta's latest line are both sophisticated and sultry. A traditional tulle skirt and lace bodice gets amplified with a plunging neckline. A sheath got a sexy update with all-over beading and expertly-placed illusion panels. And the perfect reception dress can be found in a fantastically feathery, tea-length frock.
