For her cousin's wedding in Seattle, Canadian pastry chef Christina McKenzie of The Cocoa Cakery baked the cake layers at home (the flavors: chocolate, vanilla, red velvet, and Aunt Harriet's carrot cake — how sweet is that?) and brought them onto the plane as her carry-on. She assembled and decorated the cake the morning of the wedding, frosting the buttercream and adding fresh flowers and greenery to create this dreamy dessert.
