Rachel Skvaril of the New Orleans-based bakery Fondant Flinger made this whimsical beach-inspired wedding cake. To create the ocean waves, she rolled out thin sheets of blue-tinted fondant and "ruffled" them around the bottom tier. Then to make the top tier resemble sand, she covered tier with sugar and added a fondant starfish and sand dollar. Inside, the flavors were vanilla cake layered with raspberry-flavored Swiss meringue buttercream.
