Believe it or not, the design of this cake was inspired by a dress from the children's store Gymboree. Cake designer Erica O'Brien spotted a little girl dressed in a bright frock and replicated the floral pattern using fondant; hand-sculpted marzipan pears and persimmons added an autumnal touch.
