Q: Friends say I should wear soft, neutral shades down the aisle, but I like vivid makeup. Do I have to trade trendiness for tradition?

A: Wear whatever makes you feel prettiest, but spotlight your best feature, taking a more subtle approach to the rest of your face. If you prefer a stand-out pout, balance your palette with a natural blusher. Want to be a bright-eyed bride without blinding your groom? "Keep strong-colored shadows toward the outer corner of the lash line," says New York makeup artist Vincent Longo. "Don't extend it more than two thirds of the way to the inner corner, and never to the eyebrow." For gals with pluck, Longo recommends his Flowers eye shadow trios in shiny-to-matte shades.
