A: If your wedding is very formal (ballroom reception or the equivalent), it's fine for your mother to go long any time of day. If you're having an informal affair, a dressy suit or cocktail-length dress is more appropriate both before and after noon. As far as beading goes, Mom should save the sparkle for evening nuptials.
