"If the place is light and airy, like a country club, a jazz band with a vocalist would work well," says Marc Jason, of Total Entertainment, a New York company. If your venue is a catering hall or a hotel ballroom, which lends itself to dancing, Jason suggests a scaled-down orchestra (7 pieces, versus 10 with a horn section).
