Q: My aunt surprised me with a hideous necklace to "wear on the big day." What should I do?

A: After thanking your aunt for her generous gift, in the nicest way possible let her know that while you would love to wear it, unfortunately it doesn't match the style of your wedding dress. If it's not too formal maybe you can wear it to your shower or rehearsal dinner. Do your best not to hurt her feelings, and if you are having a hard time talking to her about it, you may want to ask your mom to intervene.
