A: Working efficiently and pleasantly on an empty stomach is hard, so it's a good idea to make sure that anyone spending a chunk of time at your reception—DJ to valets—has food for fuel. "There's no need to serve them the same plated dinners as guests," says Laurel Szeto, a wedding coordinator and owner of Laurel and Party in Santa Monica, California. "Arrange for your caterer to provide less expensive meals, such as pasta or sandwiches. Just make it something quick and easy so the caterer's focus stays where it belongs—on your party."
