Q: My fiancé and I aren't getting married for another two years. Is it too early to submit our engagement annoucement?

A: Engagement announcements are usually sent to newspapers in the bride and groom's hometowns and the cities where they work as soon as they've told close friends and family. Since you will be having a long engagement, you might want to wait until you've set a date or until a year before the ceremony. When it's time to send wedding announcements, mail the private announcement on the day of the ceremony to people not invited to the wedding. Send the public announcement to a newspaper for publication for the day you get married.
