Raquel Kelley, E! Fashion Police producer and the creative force behind the wedding blog, I Guess I Do, is revealing how to make your mom and your groom happy.
When it comes to weddings, the dynamics between families differ drastically. But in lots of circumstances, the big day is more of a dream to the mother of the bride than the bride herself! Now, not only does the bride have to plan a wedding that she and her future husband want, but one her mother wants as well, often leaving the engaged girl in between a rock (sadly, not just the one on her finger) and a hard place!
Here are three ways to help smooth out this situation:
1. Find Out What is Important to Your Future Husband From the Get-Go
These circumstances may make your fiancé feel like he doesn't have a say in his own wedding. Be sure to have a sit down with him and find out what is most important to him from the beginning.
Whether it be the band, the DJ, or that he wants to wear Converse, try and meet these needs first. That way, he will be content and allow you and your mother to go to town on all of the other decisions like whether or not to bedazzle the napkin ring holders.

2. Have a Designated Wedding Savings Account
Speaking of going to town, this is where things usually get dicey. Everything looks well and good until you start seeing price tags.
Be sure to keep a separate bank account specifically for wedding spending. More importantly, you and your fiancé should agree on the amount allocated in this account. After all, it is you two that will have to deal with the overspending aftermath once all is said and done.
So before your mother goes and decides that she wants ice sculptures and swans, be sure to let her know about your agreed upon budget.
3. Remember to Make Time for Mom
The week of the wedding is sure to get busy with out of town guests and last minute decisions, but it is also important to make time for the person that gave birth to you.
Maybe it's a long walk or some morning yoga the day of the wedding, or sitting down for some wine after a hectic rehearsal dinner. It will give you both a chance to unwind, and will make her feel special, because after all, we all know wine is God's way of saying, "I feel ya, girl."
While it may be impossible to please absolutely everyone at your wedding, at least you will know you tried with those most important to you!
