This may shock you, but men don't always want sex. (We'll give you a moment to let that sink in.) "Men — along with their sex drives, and just like women — are affected by changes in mood, stress, and diet, just to name a few," says sex expert Nikki Ransom-Alfred.
But there's good news. If you find yourself ready and rearing for a roll in the hay, you can get your husband in the mood, too, with these four expert tips.
Yes, married people send dirty texts, too! Tell him in explicit detail just what you want to do to him. "Men are visual creatures, so be descriptive to arouse him," explains Ransom-Alfred.
Do a photo shoot.
Snap a photo of yourself dressed in your favorite lingerie set. "Just send a warning text, asking him to not open the one to-come with others standing close by!" Ransom-Alfred warns.
Offer to live out his fantasy.
Has he expressed a desire to try something out you, too, could get into? "Everyone loves the idea of being able to fulfill a sexual fantasy," says Ransom-Alfred.
Cook a libido-boosting dinner.
Sauteé fish — heavy in omega 3 fatty acids that increase dopamine levels, which boosts arousal, Ransom-Alfred says. "Red wine is also said to increase one's blood flow and arousal," she adds.
If your efforts don't result in a sexual encounter, don't dismay. "Your husband may be going through something that has nothing to do with you, like stress at work," says Ransom-Alfred. "The best things you can do is to communicate with and support your husband so he can get back to his normal self."
