I recently attended the Eat. Drink. Be Married. event at the Astor Center in the East Village. (Click here for a great recap of the evening.) In addition to sampling a ton of delicious treats from vendors including Thomas Preti Catering, Momofuku Milk Bar, and Cleaver Company, I got to check out the new-ish event space, and I was totally impressed.
Astor Center has three separate rooms, The Gallery, The Kitchen and The Study, that are available for whole or partial rental. I thought The Gallery would make a particularly cool spot for a wedding reception, with its cast iron columns, exposed brick walls, and big arched windows that look right out onto Lafayette Street. The Center also offers interactive tasting and cooking classes, which would make for a fabulous bridal shower or bachelorette party.
