It's a win! On Friday, U.S. Women's soccer star Megan Rapinoe announced her engagement to longtime love and girlfriend, singer Sera Cahoone, on Instagram. In an image of the couple sharing a sweet smooch, the athlete wrote, "this little lady is getting married!"
Her new fiancée shared in the fun as well, posting the same image with the caption, "this little lady is getting married too!"
Rapinoe and her team won the FIFA Women's World Cup in early July, beating Japan, then most recently road in a ticker-tape parade through New York's Canyon of Heroes and posted for the cover of Sports Illustrated. In other words, it's been a big couple of months for the bride-to-be!
The couple got engaged while celebrating Cahoone's birthday, according Us Weekly. The singer shared an image of two glasses of white wine on a table perched over blue waters, writing, "best bday present ever!" And Rapinoe wished her a happy birthday on social media, too, posting a casual Instagram image of Cahoone captioned, "happy birthday to the most beautiful woman I have ever met. I love you @seracahoone."
Rapinoe and Cahoone's engagement comes just months after fellow soccer teammate Sydney Leroux tied the knot with husband Dom Dwyer. According to E! News, Leroux and Dwyer exchanged vows in an intimate winter ceremony, and are planning a larger wedding in the next few months. Leroux even turned to Twitter to ask for music suggestions, and have even received a request for a Ludacris song for the bouquet toss!
Congrats to the happy couple!
