Lady Gaga's heart-shaped engagement ring (with her and fiancé Taylor Kinney's initials embedded in the band) set an incredibly high bar for bridal baubles this year. Not only is her rock incredibly unique, but it's deeply meaningful, as well — the diamond shape will always remind Gaga of Kinney's Valentine's Day proposal! Seeing as most brides have some sort of story behind their ring, we asked our Facebook audience to share pictures and explanations for their rocks. Read on to see why these four made us particularly emotional.
1. Ask, and ye shall receive.
Sure, a lot of brides trust that their guys will pick out a ring they like with no assistance, but sometimes, the men need a hand! Bride Zoe Michelle Holden told her now-fiancé that she wanted something "rather vintage looking rose gold metal with diamond in the center and rubies around the diamond." Looks like she got exactly what she asked for!
2. Beauty in the details.
It's pretty incredible when an already-beautiful engagement ring looks prettier after finding out the story behind it. Case in point? This stunner. "The diamond was my mothers that was passed down and my husband looked on my Pinterest for ideas," wrote bride Kayla Halgren. "He wanted something resembling the infinity symbol because we got married on 8-8."
3. Drawn from real life.
As many women know, words can only get you so far when you're trying to describe something to your guy. That certainly was the case when bride Christin Colden Marotto's then-boyfriend wanted to know what she wanted him to get her. "He asked me what I might want so I tried to explain it to him," she said. "He said to just draw him a picture because he 'didn't get it.' He took my drawing to a custom jeweler and made my ring based on what I drew!!!"
4. Love in real life.
Lady Gaga isn't the only lady walking around with a heart-shaped ring, of course. Bride Astri Dewi Limantoro's ring has a similar shape as Gaga's, but we love that it feels more, well, down to earth.
