While the Mission Impossible star may have been MIA during his daughter's top-secret wedding, Tom Cruise reportedly approves whole-heartedly of Isabella Cruise's marriage to I.T. consultant Max Parker — so much so that he paid for the ceremony, according to People.
"Tom approves of Max and is totally, totally fine with it," an anonymous source told the magazine, and dished that, "none of the parents were invited, and Tom was totally cool with it. Tom did pay for the ceremony." Initial reports said Isabella's mother, Nicole Kidman, witnessed the pair's vows, but People confirms she actually wasn't in attendance.
That seems to be just how Isabella wanted it: A low-key, uber-private affair with a guest list that included only a few of the couple's closest friends, the magazine reports. The pair said "I do" on September 18 at the Dorchester Hotel in London.
People reports Isabella asked four friends to stand by her side as bridesmaids during the ceremony. Then the group retreated through a tunnel of bubbles to the couple's suite, where they enjoyed a three-course meal in celebration of their marriage.
Isabella is the adopted daughter of Kidman and Cruise. The couple adopted her in 1993, and two years later, adopted their son, Connor. When the famous duo divorced in 2001, both children decided to live with their father. "They are generous, kind and hardworking," Kidman, who has two daughters with husband Keith Urban, told Australian Women's Weekly of her eldest two children in 2014. "And these are traits that I love to see in my children."
