Looks like Charlize Theron and Sean Penn have a wedding and a family to plan for. The couple of a year reportedly got engaged late last year and now, they're set to legalize their little family unit in a different way — Penn has filed to adopt Theron's three-year-old son Jackson!
"Sean always knew that to truly earn a place in Charlize's heart, connecting with Jackson was one of the most important parts," a source told Us Weekly of Penn's relationship with his fiancée's child.
That exciting development may be the first of many for the comely couple. The duo, who were friends for years before they began officially dating last year, may even expand their brood in the near future. "There is still talk of adopting again and giving Jackson a brother or a sister," the source added.
For a couple so committed to humanitarianism (they recently raised millions of dollars for Haiti together), we're sure they'll make dynamic parents and spouses! After all, they made their public debut as a couple at Penn's annual Haiti gala last year.
Penn's pending adoption caps off what's been an amazing year for him and his Oscar-winning love. After months of engagement speculation, he supposedly proposed during a romantic trip to Paris in November, after he decided he wanted to take their relationship to the "next level." As a source noted at the time, "there's no ring, but they are committed."
