To look at Sareh Nouri's 2012 collections, you'd think the Iranian designer had been creating wedding gowns for far longer than her 2011 debut. Nouri's romanticized, high-fashion aesthetic instantly falls in step with the latest bridal trends—soft color, framed backs, and an emphasis on lace all dot her spring and fall lines.
"Rose Garden," a strapless taffeta-and-organza ball gown featuring a skirt of oversize rosettes (above), is perhaps the most striking design of the bunch, if only for its nuanced balance between dramatic details and a classic silhouette. "White Swan" (below) similarly demonstrates a couturier's touch, with a bodice of French lace topping a tiered skirt of tulle and organza. The addition of appliquéd lace placed seemingly at random around the skirt recalls the sensibility of more established names, like Monique Lhuillier, Marchesa, and Vera Wang—promising company to keep, indeed.
