It's a good thing Ryan Reynolds and wife Blake Lively are already an attractive couple, because if there's one thing the first-time parents are sorely missing, it's beauty sleep. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, Reynolds dished about his newborn daughter's sleep habits, or lack there of!
In the interview, Reynolds was the epitome of a proud father as he talked about his first child, a girl reportedly named James. "It's exciting, nine weeks now! I do everything [for her]," Reynolds said. "Our baby in particular is, we think, allergic to sleep."
While any new parent will tell you how difficult it is to balance a normal sleep schedule with your child's needs, Reynolds says he and Lively find their daughter's behavior particularly troublesome. "We joke that she... thinks she's keeping us [safe]," he shared. "She's protecting us from the sleep monsters. She's like, 'Oh, I gotta keep them up or the sleep monsters will get them.'"
He may not have the bedtime routine down yet, but Reynolds admits he's working on it. "The trick I try to use is that Baby Einstein stuff, but for me, that's like horse tranquilizer. I could go down on a lit stove. You could push me out of an airplane," he joked.
Although they may not be sleeping quite as well with their new addition in the home, Reynolds and Lively seem to be smitten with James. "She's got me wrapped around her finger," Reynolds said of the new lady in his home. "I am a slave to the rhythm... I can't wait. It's just going to be teatime every day with her... No, she's going to be a football player."
Now, we just need to see a picture of what we can only imagine is one of the most adorable babies ever.
