Congratulations are in order for our favorite Homeland star! According to multiple reports, Rupert Friend, a.k.a. Peter Quinn from the hit Showtime series, has finally found his happily ever after — and, no, it's not with Carrie. The actor is engaged to girlfriend Aimee Mullins, an athlete, model, and actress.
According to Us Weekly Friend and Mullins attended the L'Oréal Paris Women of Worth awards on Tuesday, where the bride-to-be let slip news of an engagement on the red carpet. In what we can only imagine was excitement over their newly-engaged status, Mullins referred to Friend as her "fiancé" on multiple occasions.
Later that evening the host of the event gave Mullins a "congratulatory shout-out when calling her up to the stage, which prompted a ton of applause from the audience," according to People.
The question is when did Friend actually pop the question? The Daily Mail reported that a crew member on the set of Homeland shared word of their engagement back in October, saying that Friend and Mullins "come on set together holding hands and are obviously very much in love."
Regardless of when the pair did get engaged, they certainly seem to be very happily in love. "He was very doting the whole night, pulling out her chair, opening the car door," a source told People of Friend's gentlemanly behavior at the L'Oréal event. "They were really adorable, just enjoying the night and each other's company."
We'll admit we're a little heartbroken that our beloved Quinn appears to be off the market, but we couldn't be happier for the couple!
