NBC News chief foreign correspondent Richard Engel is a married man! The esteemed reporter announced the happy news himself on Twitter this weekend, letting it be known that he and "longtime love" (his words!) Mary Forrest tied the knot.
"So happy. Just got married!" he wrote on his Twitter Saturday. "To @MaryKForrest . My longtime love and girlfriend."

The couple met five years ago when Forrest was a producer on Martha Stewart's show and he was a guest. Since then, they've been living together in both New York and the Middle East as Engel has been busy covering stories like ISIS (for which Engel accepted the Peabody Award last night!).
And while the wedding is certainly exciting, that's not all these two have in store for the future. Engel and Forrest are apparently expecting their first child, a baby boy, this fall, Page Six reports.
As for the honeymoon, the newlyweds will jet off somewhere magical, we're sure, once Engel's documentary on Nepal premieres in June.
While we're upset we never saw a photo or an engagement ring, we're sure this ceremony was a sweet one. And we're anxious to get more details from their upcoming cocktail reception, which we're sure will be host to some of NY's media elite.
