We know you spend a not-insignificant amount of time daydreaming, fantasizing, and wondering what it's going to feel like on your wedding day. So we asked three brides to share their emotional play-by-plays of the hours and minutes leading up to — and right after — the wedding.
Follow this mini blog series, get to know these brides, and learn about the range of emotions they experienced — so you can get a sense of what you may go through on your big day. Here, the brides share how they felt one hour before their wedding ceremony. And one thing they all seemed to have in common? They were so grateful to have done a first look with their husband-to-be.
One hour before my wedding ceremony, I felt...
"Slightly jittery," said Channon from New Jersey. "But once we arrived at our photo locations and had our first look, my body completely relaxed. It was as if every nerve released whatever tension it had been holding onto, and I knew with absolute certainty that this was exactly where we were supposed to be."

"I felt such deep connectedness with my husband-to-be during our first look photos," said Tina from New York City. "I didn't really understand at the time that those precious moments just the two of us would be the only ones we'd have alone for hours. It was wonderful and calming to start things off like that, and I'm so grateful we chose to do first look photos."
"I felt calm and relaxed," said Laura from Nashville. "We'd just done our first look photos, which is now one of my favorite memories of our wedding day. Even though it broke with tradition, seeing each other before the ceremony gave us some much needed alone time before all the festivities began."
