Prince William and Kate Middleton released their official engagement photos this weekend. Renowned fashion photographer Mario Testino shot the pictures. Kate and Wills posed for both formal and casual images (pictured) during the two-hour engagement photo shoot. For the formal images, the pair posed in the historic Council Chamber linked to Clarence House, where Prince Charles resides. The informal images were taken in the Cornwall Room of St. James's Palace.
Kate went with the decidedly non-princessy option of doing her own makeup, but the photographer's makeup artist was on hand for touch-ups, reports PEOPLE. She used her usual stylist, James Pryce, from the Richard Ward salon, for her hair.
"I am very happy to have been asked to cover this historic moment that the whole world was waiting for," Mario Testino said in a statement. "They are in their prime and brimming with happiness. I have never felt so much joy as when I see them together."
