There will always be brides-to-be out there who face the same invite dilemma when the time comes to put together their wedding guest lists: "Should my ex score a spot?" It's definitely a grey area question, but if you're good friends with your ex (and your fabulously understanding fiancé is cool with it), having a former flame as a wedding guest could totally work. In fact, even the royals approve! Prince William is slated to attend his ex-girlfriend's wedding this weekend, proving that when it comes to manners, the Prince is king.
According to People, Kensington Palace announced this week that Prince William will be spending Easter weekend in Kenya, strengthening political relationships with the African nation. But apparently there's one personal relationship that the Duke of Cambridge will also be strengthening during his trip — one with his former flame!
Prince William will reportedly be a guest at the nuptials of Professor Jonathan Baillie and Jecca Craig, whom the Prince dated, fresh out of high school. Taking place at the bride's family estate, which boasts a private safari reserve and wildlife sanctuary, the wedding has the world going wild with the news of the former flame guest. But the extended invite really isn't too out there for these famously friendly exes. Craig not only attended Prince William and Kate Middleton's fairytale royal wedding back in 2011, but provided their proposal spot. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were staying at the Craig family's safari reserve (where Jecca will say her own "I dos!") when Prince William proposed to his bride. There'll definitely be some serious reminiscing going on at that reception.
The British monarchy isn't alone when it comes to extending wedding invitations to prior partners. Demi Moore and Bruce Willis divorced in 1998, but later went on to attend each other's second nuptials. And when Kaley Cuoco wed Ryan Sweeting in 2013, her past beau, Johnny Galecki, was right there, wishing her well. "He was in the front row at my wedding with a huge smile on his face," Cuoco previously told Cosmopolitan.
Is it too late to add another name to your wedding guest list?
