This off-the-shoulder silk taffeta gown from Piccione is trimmed with rhinestones and crystals and features an asymmetrical-draped waist and skirt with a semi-cathedral train. This upcoming bridal collection is special for Piccione and the entire Alfred Angelo line because it marks the brand's 75th anniversary. The milestone inspired designer Michael Shettel to look back at the company's archives and create a collection that leaps into the future and creates new modern classics.
Other trends to look for in the runway? Body conscious trumpet and mermaid silhouettes as well as contemporary red carpet necklines that recall the 1930's and 40's. "Using a modern, soft taffeta and iridescent satin I created opulent ball gowns with luxurious trains reminiscent of 1950's styling," says Shettel. "The mod 60's are represented by short destination and reception dresses, while crystal beaded empire and A-Line styles reflect a 1970's sensibility." —Cari Wolfert
