In December of 2015, Dancing with the Stars' Maksim Chmerkovskiy took the stage, not for another show-stopping waltz, but to drop to one knee and propose to his fellow dancer Peta Murgatroyd. While we're still not entirely over that epic moment, since then the pair has celebrated their to-be-wedded status, basked in that ol' engagement glow, and even welcomed their first child—a little boy, named Shai—in January. But they've yet to tie the knot! However, it looks like the wait to see Peta rock a wedding dress and these two tango pros take the reception dance floor is almost over, as Chmerkovskiy just revealed exactly when and where they're planning to say "I do."
ABC—which recently caught up with Chmerkovskiy—reports that the couple are planning a summer wedding (Peonies! Strapless dresses! Bright colors! Sigh…). The Ukrainian professional dancer revealed some big day details, including that their wedding venue is officially locked in—and has made the list of BRIDES Best Venues of 2017, we might add!
"We have an amazing, amazing space on Long Island, Oheka [Castle,]" Chmerkovskiy told ABC News. "It's going to be great."
"We went there. It's perfect," added Chmerkovskiy of their Oheka Castle venue (photo above). "We're going to have it for two days. They're closing the whole hotel. It's going to be unbelievable!" Raise your hand if you're excited!
The royalty-worthy mega mansion in Huntington, New York, boasts 23 acres of privacy and has quite the famous resumé. You may recognize it from T. Swift's "Blank Space" music video. But these two DWTS nearly-weds want to say "I do" there for an even sweeter reason.
"I remember when I was passing by this castle when I first immigrated, and [I said,] 'That's where I want to have my wedding' and I just said it so [casually,] and now it's happening," the groom explained. Aww!
But with the wedding venue booked, Chmerkovskiy noted that he's leaving the rest of the wedding plans to his bride-to-be. "I hate to admit, but I've just removed myself from it," he said, but was quick to add, "I want her to have the wedding of her dreams."
