In between Nicole Kidman's marriages to Tom Cruise and Keith Urban, the actress had another serious relationship—so serious, in fact, that she was actually engaged for a period of time. And now Kidman is revealing the mystery man to whom she was secretly engaged: Lenny Kravitz.
The revelation came in a recent interview with the star of Big Little Lies—which also features Lenny's daughter, Zoë Kravitz. Kidman (who plays Celeste) shared with The EDIT that the cast of the HBO miniseries all shared a special bond, especially herself and Kravitz (who plays Bonnie). "Well, I knew Zoë because I was engaged to her father. It's all in the family!" Kidman said. "I love Lenny; he’s a great guy."
Kidman and Kravitz dated briefly back in 2003, about two years after Kidman's divorce from Cruise. She had previously opened up to Vanity Fair in 2007 about her secret engagement, without confirming who her former fiancé was. "It just wasn’t right," Kidman said at the time. "I wasn’t ready. We weren’t ready." She met her current husband, Urban, in 2005, and the couple was married a year later.
There appears to be no bad blood between Kidman, Kravitz, and Urban either: The trio hung out backstage at the 2016 CMT Music Awards, exchanging hugs and posing for group photos.
