The holiday time "engagement season" is almost here, so we asked Mark Vieregg of Walters & Hogsett Fine Jewelers in Boulder, CO for his predictions of which engagement rings he thinks are going to be popular this season.
Vintage-inspired:"Asher cut diamonds, which are square and step cut, have a timeless look," says Mark.
Rough-cut diamonds: "No two rough cut diamonds are identical, which makes a unique statement," says Mark.
Colored diamonds and gems: "Pink and yellow diamonds have made their way into Hollywood engagement headlines over the past few years, but natural sapphires in a variety of colors—featured as the center gemstone or as an accent—are gaining in popularity," says Mark.
Solitaires: "The elegant solitaire ring has a perennially high fashion look," says Mark.
Custom rings: "More and more couples are finding ways to customize their rings for their particular lifestyle. For example, low-profile settings are in for active brides who want a look they can wear for work and play," says Mark.
