Newlyweds Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent have a lot to celebrate! Besides their eternal love, of course. The adorable couple just welcomed their first child into the world, a daughter named Poppy Brent-Berkus.
New father and former TV host Nate Berkus announced the happy news on his Facebook page earlier today: "Jeremiah & I are thrilled to announce the arrival of our daughter, Poppy Brent-Berkus, born via surrogate on March 23, 2015," he wrote of the incredible news. "We are so excited to finally be a family of 3! As anyone with a newborn knows, we have our work cut out for us but couldn't be happier to be embarking on this life changing journey that is parenthood. Thank you all for your well wishes and support."
The pair of famed designers wed last May in a historic ceremony at the iconic New York Public Library (it was the first-ever gay wedding held there!) and four months later announced their exciting arrival.
Poppy is the first of what will hopefully be a large brood for the Brent-Berkus family. Just earlier this year Brent was caught saying he wants a "soccer team." "One thing at a time, but Nate will be the best dad," Brent said a few months back. "I want a soccer team. Unfortunately, it's not as easy for us like conventional couples as you can imagine. We both want kids. I would have five if I could, but we will probably have two."
