It's been two years since Natalie Portman wed Benjamin Millepied, but the actress stills knows how to embody a bride-to-be. While her own marriage seems to be going off without a hitch, the 33-year-old Oscar winner struggles to make it down the aisle in a new advertisement for the iconic Miss Dior fragrance.
Portman wears a strapless high-low wedding dress with a sweetheart neckline and tons of fabric flowers in the video above. The look, while incredibly beautiful, is a striking contrast to Portman's own big-day bridal look. For her 2012 nuptials, the bride chose a tea-length wedding dress with an illusion high-neckline and long sleeves to suit her traditional Jewish ceremony.
In the video, which is set to the tune of Janis Joplin's "Piece of My Heart," Portman has several moments of panic when she becomes acutely aware of the future ahead of her. As her bridesmaids leave her room laughing, the bride-to-be's smile fades and is further diminished when a young man, bearing a classic Lily of the Valley bouquet, refers to her as "Madam" rather than "Miss."
The stunning bride ultimately makes her way down the aisle with the French Riviera as her backdrop, but feels a deeper sense of panic as her father tells her how proud he is. As she arrives before her mystery groom, Portman makes her final decision and chooses to run. Ultimately, she sheds her wedding dress and ends up in a sleek black gown while she waits on the edge of a cliff for another man to rescue her in a helicopter.
