And you thought planning a wedding while working a nine to five was tough? (But really, we speak from experience, it is...) Just try your hand at working out all your "I do" details while rocking a world concert tour. 'Tis the life of superstar singer Mariah Carey, who is currently planning her nuptials to Australian billionaire James Packer and headlining sold-out performances every night in tandem. And while we're sure the ever-opulent Carey has dozens of celeb-approved wedding planners at her beck and call, we're thinking it's still no easy feat.
It's been a little over three months since Packer and the "We Belong Together" singer declared that they, do indeed, belong together, with the announcement that they'll be tying the knot. Packer proposed with a mind-bogglingly huge diamond engagement ring that weighs in at a whopping 35-carats (yes, really), so the world is pretty much expecting a wedding as supersized as that sparkler. So imagine our surprise when Carey revealed that she's taking a slightly more conventional approach to her upcoming nuptials. Being that this marks the third time down the aisle for both the bride and the groom, Carey revealed to E! News that she's being rather "normal" about the wedding.
"I'm just going with whatever I like," the singer shared. Then again, we know what the pop diva likes — glam, glitz, and lots of it! So even though she swears that this round of "I dos" will be on a smaller scale, we're positive that glamour and glitter won't be in short supply.
Speaking of glitz, Carey's wedding dress is sure to be full of it. But the singer is remaining tight-lipped about the gown's details. But what we do know is that the dress does in fact exist and her and her bridal gown designers are currently in the fitting stages. "I tried my dress last night," said Carey, explaining that her wedding dress itself made the trip to the Parisian leg of her tour for a fitting. "It looks good. They came and brought it... I can't say the people. I can't say their names. The fabulous designer house that's amazing."
Fabulous? Adiós conventional, now that sounds more like the wedding of a true pop diva!
