Beloved boho fashion designer Mara Hoffman, known for her alluring silk prints and some of the coolest bathing suits in the swimwear market, is launching her second Devotional Collection tomorrow, a nature and mythology-inspired line of wedding dresses for the alternative bride who has an affinity towards unique detail and free-flowing silhouettes — and we have an exclusive first look.
Mara Hoffman started her Devotional collection because she "love[s] the experience of celebrating ceremonial moments in people's lives. It's such a gift," Hoffman explains. "There are very few moments in life that mark true ceremony, and a wedding, in any woman's life, is one that is most prominent."
Each of the nine bridal looks are named after goddesses throughout time and culture, including Persephone, the "majestic Queen of the Underworld," Juno "Goddess of marriage, pregnancy and childbirth," and Athena who "has a great intellectual ability to see the true nature of a situation and to develop successful strategies." And the designs nail the goddess-like vibe, thanks to the gowns' intricate, geometric embroidery, powerful cutouts at the bodice, and breezy A-line skirts.
These dresses aren't limited to the indie girl, either. Hoffman herself says she envisions these dresses on "a variety of brides — from the free-spirited, barefoot-in-the-sand bride to the more classic bride who doesn't want to look overly traditional or conservative."
With it sometimes limited to only 20 pieces produced for each style, these gowns feel like one-of-a-kinds. They're also pretty affordable too, with the dresses running between $550 and $2,200.
