Hours after the Supreme Court ruled that same-sex couples have the constitutional right to marry across the nation, Lena Dunham dropped a hint bomb on boyfriend Jack Antonoff: She's finally ready for a proposal!
The Girls star and Golden Globe winner sent the message to her boyfriend of three years via Twitter, writing, "@jackantonoff Get on it, yo..."
Earlier, she posted to Twitter, "Woke up to learn that love is free! Thank you to all those who fought so hard to make this historic moment happen," she added. "Let's use this victory as a reminder to keep pushing for equality on every frontier. We have the power!"
Dunham has been vocal in her reservations to tie the knot until marriage was legal for people of all sexual orientations. During an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in March, she said, "The idea of having a celebration that can't be fully shared among all the people in my life and all the people that we love just doesn't really feel like a celebration at all. So until that's something that everyone can join into with no sense of being left out on any level, politically, emotionally, it's just not something that we're gonna do."
While Antonoff the lead singer of the Bleachers, didn't respond directly to Dunham's hint — though he did "favorite" her tweet! — he clearly has been sharing in her joy. He took to Twitter, too, to share his excitement. "Gonna tweet something I never thought I would: !!!!!!!!!!!!! USA USA USA USA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" he posted. "So many amazing people worked tirelessly for decades for this. in awe of them today and always."
So, when's the wedding, guys?
