The clock is ticking, and you've only got seven days left until your big day, yay! You're exhausted, nervous, but most of all just ready to get this show on the road already. To help you prep and ensure you don't lose your mind amidst the chaos (which is completely possible), we've put together a handy-dandy list of seven errands you can't forget to run the week of your wedding.
1. Buy and assemble your bathroom amenities kit
Though this can be done in advance, NYC-based wedding planner Viva Max Kaley, creator of Viva Max Weddings, says it's an easy task to complete the week of. "Stop by your local drug store, and pick up some travel-sized goodies to display in the restroom at your venue," she suggests. Think breath mints, Band-Aids, aspirin, gum, tissues, bobby pins, perfume, hairspray, stain removal pens, etc.
2. Get gift wrapping supplies
By now, you should already have wedding gifts for your hubby-to-be, parents and bridesmaids on hand. If you haven't wrapped them up all pretty yet, now's the time to stop by the store and get the supplies to do so. "It's always lovely to thank those who have helped you plan your wedding," says Kaley.
3. Fill your prescriptions
Heading off on your honeymoon right after the wedding? Then you'll definitely want to make sure any prescriptions you have and will need, like birth control, are filled for the coming week, advises Kaley.
4. Remember to purchase pens
Your friends and family will need something to sign your guest book with, after all! Kaley also recommends double checking that you have stands for any wedding signs. "The little items should be listed on a pack list along with the big things so that nothing is left behind."
5. Plan for the weather
A high chance of rain on your wedding day isn't something any bride likes to see, but better to be safe than sorry, right? We certainly think so. Kaley suggests checking the weather and packing an outer layer, extra shirt or leg warmers to accommodate the temperature. If rain is in the forecast, buy some cute rain boots and a clear umbrella for pictures just in case. You can always return them later if you don't use them.
6. Take cash out of the bank to use for tips
If you need to use an ATM, daily withdrawal limits can cause hiccups in the tipping process, warns Kaley. "Give yourself a day or two to get that together so if you have to make two trips on two different days you can. Then be sure to pre-organize your tips in envelopes," she says. You wouldn't want to be too generous or not generous enough on account of alcohol!
7. Pre-order your wedding-day brunch
You'll be way too frazzled and excited the day of to think about what you'd like to eat, which is precisely why Kaley advises having it set and ready to go for delivery. "This way, you and your bridal party can enjoy a hearty and healthy brunch no matter how busy the day feels."
