Lady Gaga and her fiancé Taylor Kinney took the plunge this weekend! No, not marriage (although that's not too far in the future) — they did the Polar Plunge, a jump into frigid Lake Michigan in Chicago to raise funds for the Special Olympics.
Gaga showed up to the charity event decked out in a Chicago Fire T-shirt (her handsome future husband stars on the NBC show), a platinum-blonde wig, and her heart-shaped engagement ring. Unfortunately, she also wore those items into the 33-degree waters, which led to a minor mishap.
"My weave froze!!" she wrote on Instagram. "Taylor gave me his hat I thought my wig was gonna freeze into and become one with the lake."
She's lucky she had her fiancé there to warm her up — he was also photographed giving her a piggyback ride and a hug! The duo braved the cold along with 4,500 other participants, including Vince Vaughn and Kinney's costar Jon Seda, David Eigenberg, Randy Flagler and Brian Geraghty. After she defrosted and re-glammed, Gaga took to Instagram again to express her gratitude for the event.
"Feels so good to do things for a good cause like the Special Olympics," she wrote with the above photo. "It's great [to] donate money, but also great to donate a gesture of love for those who deserve to be showered with it."
The betrothed couple has gotten to spend a lot of time celebrating with Kinney's TV family since they got engaged on Valentine's Day. Just last week, Chicago Fire star Sophia Bush shared joyous photos of the twosome at a party for the show's creator, Dick Wolf.
