Julie and Alex eloped and were married during an intimate ceremony in Big Sur. "Both our parents eloped, so we wanted to continue the tradition," says Julie. "We have small families so we brought them with us." Two months later they celebrated their marriage with a party for 98 guests at CornerStone Sonoma, where gardens featuring art installations, like one composed of plastic daisy pinwheels, provided a unique backdrop for portraits. The party, held inside the barn, featured tables decorated with peonies, geraniums, wild flowers, and wild herbs like lavender, mint, and lemon verbena all arranged in mason jars. Wooden boxes filled with parsley and oregano, arranged by Julie, were also placed on tables. "We encouraged our guests to take the herb boxes home with them."
