In celebration of Mother's Day this past Sunday, bride-to-be Joy-Anna Duggar expressed her excitement for motherhood (one day), in addition to thanking mama Michelle for her devotion to the family of 21.
“I’m so thankful for you, mama. And even more recently, just helping with all the wedding planning and helping me just not get stressed out about all that,” the 19-year-old said in the family's YouTube video. “I can’t wait to be a mother myself.”
A little less than a year ago, Joy-Anna announced that she had entered a courtship—a term the family uses for a relationship—with a friend of 15 years, Austin Forsyth. The 19-year-old first met Forsyth when his family moved to Arkansas and started attending the Duggars' church. And after a three-month courtship, the couple announced they were engaged.
"Well, we were gonna go horse riding, and I decided to bring [my sisters] Johannah and Jennifer along because I knew that they would enjoy that, and they got to be the chaperones for this date," Duggar said in a TLC video. "So, Austin made this day really, really special, and he asked me to marry him, and I said yes." Duggar is super excited to keep moving toward the future with Forsyth. "I'm looking forward to just being able to do all of our wedding planning together and getting to know him even better."
Earlier this month, the couple had joint bachelor and bachelorette parties while on a camping trip with close pals. “We were trying to think of ideas for what we should do for our bachelor and bachelorette party, and actually Ms. Caldwell was the one that thought about a camping trip and floating down the river,” Joy-Anna previously explained.
And as for planning? “Wedding planning is going great so far,” Joy-Anna added. “I think Austin’s been helping out more than he ever thought he would be. He’s been a part of a lot of it.”
