This morning we stopped by the JLM Couture to see the new collections from Jim Hjelm, Lazaro, Tara Kelly and Alvina Valenta. East designer had their own style and new trends to bring to the table. Here are the highlights (from left to right):
Jim Hjelm loved lace—incorporating it into slinky V-necks, sweetheart bodices and strapless silhouettes.
My favorite dress of the show was this modern, pleated number by Alvina Valenta. The silk shantung gown features an asymmetrical neckline, trumpet skirt and sweep train.
Short and sweet was this tea-length dress by Tara Keely. The illusion bateau neckline is modest while still being pretty, and the crystal beading over tulle gave it a dazzling glow.
Lazaro introduced a new color to bridal. He called the pinkish-orange hue Sherbert, and it was beautiful on this silk satin organza gown accented with silk handmade flowers. —Cari Wolfert
