We've grown accustomed to seeing Beyoncé and Jay Z in warm weather locales on yachts and beaches or galavanting through the cosmopolitan streets of Paris, but the power couple did something a bit different for the hip-hop mogul's 45th birthday. Their latest adventure? Sightseeing in Iceland and taking a helicopter to visit a slew of tourist sites.
E! News reports that for Hova's big day the Carters got some much needed rest and relaxation at the Blue Lagoon. The geothermal spa is one of the most visited attractions in the entire country with its location smack dab in the middle of a lava field in Grindavík on the Reykjanes Peninsula — talk about a once in a lifetime vacation!
As for their hotel and lodging, Us Weekly reports that the twosome are staying at the Trophy Lodge in Úthlíõ, South Iceland. It's a small-scale yet exclusive resort that is burrowed in the mountains beneath the Langjokull glacier. The lodge features hand-hewn log cabins and hot springs. Truly romantic and secluded from all of the cares of the world (and paparazzi!),
The duo celebrated Beyoncé's birthday in September on a breathtaking yacht and Jay Z even posted a short video on his Youtube page that was dedicated to his superstar wife. Another much-needed bit of respite after they ended their global On The Run tour.
We're so glad they're spending some quality time together and can't wait to see what they do next!
