We spend a lot of time talking about the bridesmaid and maid of honors's responsibilities, but that doesn't mean we've forgotten about your future hubby and his leading men! They're just as crucial to ensuring your dream day goes off without a hitch, so we've outlined exactly what they need to do to be the best groomsmen they could possible be.
The most crucial best man responsibility is that he gets the groom dressed and to the ceremony on time. This is obvious, but very key. Some other more general (and logical) responsibilities for the best man and groomsmen is organizing a bachelor party for their friend, holding onto the bride's wedding ring, and coordinating the groomsmen's gift to the groom. They should also help welcome guests and, of course, toast the bride and groom at the reception.
Some things you may not have realized the best man is traditionally responsible for include making sure all of the groom's wedding-related expenses are taken care of, witnessing the marriage license signing, making sure the groom has his marriage license with him, take care of the groom's clothes after he changes out of his wedding attire, and paying the ceremony officiant.
Think of him as the party's cheerleader. He should be dancing with the bride, maid of honor, and both mothers of the groom and bride. He should coordinate car transportation for the bride and groom to leave the reception, and he should also be in charge of making sure any rented tuxes are returned on time (and intact).
