Droves of designers from across the pond are showing during Bridal Fashion Week this season. We asked six of them to dish on their collections, their dream clients, and their favorite places to see, shop, and stay in NYC. Below, British-born Charlie Brear dishes on her wedding dress collection and her first time showing in the U.S.
Brides: Is this the first time you are showing in New York?
Charlie Brear: Yes! We decided to come because we've had more inquiries from U.S. brides this year than ever before.
Brides: How long have you been in the biz?
CB: I created the Vintage Wedding Dress Company in 2005. This year we're re-branding it as Charlie Brear.
Brides: Describe your bride.
VK: She knows her own mind and style. Kay Barron, the fashion features director of Net-A-Porter, said it best: "both directional and instinctively feminine."

Brides: What makes your collection unique?
CB: We have everything a bride needs to transform her dress, from under- and over-skirts to tailored jackets, belts, and silk sashes. And all Charlie Brear gowns are designed and produced in the U.K.
Brides: What celebrity would you love to dress for her wedding?
Brides: What's the most over-the-top thing you've seen at a wedding?
CB: One of my girlfriends arrived in a rowboat with seven bridesmaids!
Brides: Where are you staying while you're here?
CB: The Hudson.
Brides: Which shops will you hit?
CB: Definitely Opening Ceremony.
Brides: The one spot you always visit in NYC?
CB: The MoMa and the Guggenheim.
