Love is in the air for George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin. Fresh off of a trip to Los Cabos to attend a friend's wedding, the betrothed couple had an engagement party in Malibu on Sunday.
The duo hosted their bash at Cafe Habana, which is owned by Cindy Crawford's husband Rande Gerber. Gerber, Clooney's longtime friend and business partner, also owns the stunning beachfront home in Los Cabos that is attached to Clooney's home (a place we think would make a perfect destination wedding venue).
Clooney and Alamuddin celebrated with Gerber, Crawford, plus U2's Bono and The Edge at the party. The group toasted with tequila and sipped wine on the restaurant's patio. A source tells People that several guests even performed karaoke.
"After the toast, George and his fiancée were all over each other," the source adds. "Lots of hugging."
"George seemed sweet with his fiancée," an onlooker tells Us Weekly. "I saw them kiss once, and he had his arm around her the majority of the time. They looked very happy."
Alamuddin reportedly flaunted her mega-carat emerald-cut diamond ring at the party before leaving in a limo, toting gifts and flowers.
Things are moving right along for this couple, who reportedly plan to marry sometime late this summer. And it's no wonder, given the proliferation of positive press that Alamuddin has received since they got engaged.
Friends of the couple have sounded off on their intellectual match, and some of Clooney's famous pals have chimed in, too. "I think it is sublime," Clooney's friend Julia Roberts said of the engagement on The Ellen DeGeneres Show last week. "[Amal] is beautiful and smart, and he is happy, and that's what matters to me."
