Tons of couples spend months pouring over portfolios, trying to book the very best, and pinning countless inspiration shots on Pinterest, in the hopes of ending up with a flawless album of engagement and wedding photos. You want to show these to your kids one day, after all! Well, one particular couple has a series of shots (see below) that they should be proud to show to their future family — if just for how truly hilarious they are!
Jessica Chinyelu, the founder of a nonprofit called Women of Purpose, met her hubby-to-be, Hilary Anibowei in a nightclub on New Year's Eve in 2009. "The very first thing he said to me was 'my wife'," Chinyelu reminisced with Buzzfeed. "He then proposed to me in [September] last year." Since Anibowei popped the question, the couple has spent the last year getting ready for their wedding, from ironing out the big day details to getting their pre-wedding photos taken. That's where things took an unexpected turn for the hysterical, however. But, hey, laughter is the best cure to wedding planning stress, after all!
When the couple decided to take a snapshot of the groom spinning around his bride, things didn't exactly go according to plan. "It was such a fun time," Chinyelu wrote on Instagram, captioning the pics from their photo shoot. "Especially when my wig fell off trying to capture the perfect shot." Yup, that's right! As Anibowei romantically spun her around, her wig flew off her head, sending the too-cute couple into a fit of laughter and resulting in some pretty memorable photos. "We laughed and my boo just picked up my wig like nothing ever happened and we kept it moving. Can't wait to say I do to this man," the bride wrote, proving that it's the couple that laughs together, who stays together!
"We all died laughing," Chinyelu later said of the wig incident. "We laughed so much that we had to sit down and take a break." The photo has since gone viral, with the world applauding this beautiful bride for her transparency and authenticity, while Anibowei is being praised as one heck of an understanding guy. But Chinyelu also noted that her hubby doesn't get what all the fuss is about. "He just tells me, 'Babe, I've always wanted to laugh with my wife,'" she said. Looks like they've got a lifetime of laughter ahead of 'em!
